Grandparents Seek Visitation Rights to See Grandchildren
Grandparents of a child whose parents were divorced filed a request with the court for visitation. The request was made pursuant to Hawaii statute which allowed grandparents to obtain visitation rights. The childs natural mother argued visitation by grandparents was only proper if it was shown that her parenting was bringing harm to her child. The Hawaii Supreme Court considered wether the law allowing grandparent visitation was constitutional.
