Desert Cross
Mojave Desert cross on federal land raises a first
amendment issue. Some contend it is an Establishment
of Religion barred by the constitution. Others
contend the change in land ownership makes the
presence of the cross proper. The US Supreme Court
in a 5 to 4 decision addresses this difficult
constitutional religious issue.
